Watch out, Sit Too Old Make You Fat

Want to be free of back pain and reduce the risk of heart disease? It's easy, do not sit too long. Hours and hours of sitting on the bench to actually like 'kill' you slowly.

Many studies have shown that sitting all day, can significantly damage the health. By forcing the body, which is designed to move, sit all day, can weaken the muscles. Including slow metabolism, increasing the risk of heart disease and even shorten your life.

"Sitting is very harmful for health as well as smoking," said Marc Hamilton, Ph.D., a microbiologist at the Pennington Biomedical Research Center, as quoted from Health.com.

Sitting also make weight will continue to rise significantly. That's because, when you put your butt on a chair, your metabolism slows down immediately. The trigger is an enzyme called lipoprotein lipase, which is in the blood vessels in your muscles.

"Lipoprotein lipase capture and burn fat in the blood. When you are standing, postural muscles will support the weight, especially in the feet, releasing enzymes that work to burn fat. But when sitting still and not move every 30 to 90 seconds, the fat remains in the artery and so fat the body, "says Hamilton

Sitting all day to reduce the activity of lipoprotein about 90 to 95 percent. Another bad fact, there are some experts who argue that 60 to 90 minutes of exercise can not neutralize the effects of sitting all day.

In fact, Hamilton said, biochemical reactions in people who sit a long time is very slow compared to someone who a lot of physical activity. James Levine, MD, an obesity researcher at the Mayo Clinic, also reveals, the biggest difference between lean and obese people is not how much they eat or exercise. But, how long they sit.

Multivitamins Can Increase The Risk of Death

multivitamin supplements are often used to support daily nutritional needs. However, an article in the journal Archives of Internal Medicine, the latest report, consumption of multivitamins and mineral supplements is associated with increased mortality.

The study gathered data from studies on the health of 38,772 women with an average age of 61.6 years in the United States. Researchers examined the use of supplements in 1986, 1997 and 2004. They also found a number of women who mengasup supplement increased by more than 22 percent between 1986 and 2004.

The result, use of multivitamins such as vitamin B6, folic acid, iron, magnesium, zinc and copper, associated with an increased risk of death in the population. And, the consumption of iron and copper minerals are the worst cause.

"The women in the study, including outside the normal (anomalous) because they eat fruits and vegetables two times more than the national average," said Michael Roizen, MD of YouDoc.

"Multivitamins help the diet is inadequate, but the high mortality rate in the population can not be accurately tested against those who diet twice the national average."

This study, according to experts is the 'study of' who still need a few key studies. Chances are, women with higher mortality increased intake of multivitamins because they feel ill and tried to reverse the disease.

Roizen also explained that the study did not include a supplement that increases the life expectancy such as fish oil supplements (DHA).

"They did not study the intake of DHA or fish oil supplements, which have been shown to protect from degeneration. It has proven useful in randomized trials as a supplement for women over 50. In other words, it could be a supplement does not cause high mortality," says Roizen like quoted from Shine.

Supplements of iron and copper, according to the study, leading to greater mortality risk of 5 percent, but is still considered to be smaller. "Iron supplements pose a risk and it is recommended only for ages 50 and over and the only prescription. Avoid iron supplements and copper but the doctor ordered," he said.
